Buddies:
PowerXpress!
Living God’s Word
High Voltage Bible Experience at Bible Buddies—Asbury UMC’s
Wednesday night program for children.
All children, ages 4-5th
grade, are invited to experience the power at Bible Buddies. The
electricity gets turned on Wednesday evenings in room
16-17. (Parents-please try to drop your children off on
time—we are on a “fun-pressed” schedule!) This term the kids will enjoy
an all new experience. During the month of January, our focus will be on
SELF-CONTROL. Our Bible story reference is Daniel 1:1-16. Our Bible
verse focus for January is “Be wise and give serious thought to the way
you live.” Proverbs 23:19. The children will learn to live a life of
SELF-CONTROL through music, art, cooking, games, science, and story
dramas. If you have any questions or ideas to share, please contact
Carla Smith, Director of Children’s Christian Education, at
407-644-5222, ext. 103.
Book
of James:
By faith we
are reborn into the family of God. Absolutely, agrees James. But God
wants more that justified infants; He wants mature daughters and sons.
Faith is foundational, but it must be genuine, proven faith, evident to
the world. James’s exhortation is a challenge to Christians of every
age to keep growing up. Book cost $9.00 Parlor/Paul Schumacher
Boundaries (the original)
by Dr. Henry Cloud and
Dr. John Townsend.
Having
clear boundaries is essential to a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
Boundaries define who we are and who we are not; impacting all areas of
our lives. Too often, Christians focus so much on being loving and
unselfish that they forget their own limits and limitations. Can I set
limits and still be a loving person? What are legitimate boundaries?
How do I answer someone who wants my time, love, energy, or money?
Aren't boundaries selfish? Why do I feel guilty or afraid when I
consider setting boundaries? All these questions will be answered in
the 8 week video based series by Dr. Cloud and Dr. Townsend. They offer
biblically based answers to these tough questions and show us how to set
healthy boundaries with our parents, spouses, children, friends,
co-workers, and even ourselves. Participant book cost: $15.

of Jesus. From beloved author Max Lucado, it explores the beautiful
human qualities of Jesus that we emulate in order to find peace in the
midst of chaos. It features twelve chapters that introduce readers to a
warm and personal relationship with Jesus, an introductory lesson to
each chapter that captures the heart of the message, and five follow-up
lessons that deeply, but intimately, walks the readers through the
various attributes of Jesus and how we are called to be like Him.
