Our Minisrey at a Glance - A Help for Families |
| This is probably one of those sheets you'll want to keep around! IMPACT is the place to be for Middle School and High School Students. This page tells you everything you need to know to get started.
The Basics:
1. Sunday Morning -- Every student is encouraged to attend CELEBRATION, a worship gathering at
9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. After CELEBRATION, come to
Teen Sunday School at 11:00 a.m. Here, in the Youth Room,
Pastor Bill leads a high-impact discussion on the sermon at CELEBRATION.
|
2. Wednesday Night --
Student Ministry is held whenever there are Wednesday Night Live dinners in the Fellowship Hall.
Dinner is at 6:00 pm in the Student Ministry Room. A $2.00 donation
is requested.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
Magnify - We exalt the name of Jesus Christ through singing about him and through hearing preaching from the Bible and through loving each other as we love ourselves.
Electrify - The Bible says that when we Magnify the name of Jesus Christ, we get electrified. We get excited about obeying God.
Multiply - God's mission for us is to reach lost young people and lead them to become fully devoted followers of Christ, just like we are! |

Permission Slips and Liability Forms
Permission slips for most major events will be needed.
Liability / Medical forms should be filled out when a student begins participating in the IMPACT MINISTRY. They are kept on file for one school year.

The Family - Impact Partnership
|
STUDENT / PARENT
For students and parents involved in IMPACT STUDENT MINISTRY, there are a few essentials for a fulfilling year:
Desire to Participate - IMPACT is a ministry for students who want to be here! Every student becomes a member of the team.
Know IMPACT's Mission - Magnify. Electrify. Multiply.
Know the difference between a YOUTH GROUP and a STUDENT MINISTRY:
| Group is a noun |
Ministry can be a noun or a verb |
| Group is event driven |
Ministry is purpose driven |
| Group in inward focused |
Ministry is upward focused |
| Group is away from parents |
Ministry involves parents |
| Group = Games |
Ministry = Gifts. (Every student should know their spiritual gifts, and use their spiritual gifts, before they graduate from High School) |
| Group = Spectate |
Ministry = Participate. (Every student should use their spiritual gifts to make an IMPACT). |
| Group is a place where parents drop their kids off |
Ministry is a place where parents invest their time, talent, and treasure into their kids |
|
STUDENT IMPACT
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM IMPACT STUDENT MINISTRY:
You can expect us to make an attempt to electrify your student for the Lord Jesus Christ by magnifying that name and by training your student to multiply his / her faith at school, at home, and at church.
You can expect IMPACT student and adult leaders to be passionate about teaching and loving middle school and high school students. Their lives will be marked by Christian growth, balance, health, and love.
You can expect openness to your ideas and concerns.
You can expect a periodic newsletter (usually quarterly) mailed to your home.
You can expect that your student will want to attend IMPACT events on Sunday and Wednesday night, so please help your student plan accordingly in order that the Christian life becomes a priority to your young person. This will determine his / her destiny more than sports and more than grades.
You can expect planned, protected, and productive environments for learning and fun.
You can expect your family to be changed for eternity if your whole family commits to helping IMPACT become a success. |
