Jerri Rickard is going on a Medical
Missions trip to Ghana Africa. Your donations of new / unused & sealed
vitamins, ointments, small medical items, cloth tape-measurers (for
pregnant bellies), band-aids, sunscreen, deet bug repellent,
clear-wrapped non-opened toys (like from kids happy meals), and
prescription glasses are accepted and appreciated. Please drop them off
in the donation box in the Narthex. THANK YOU.
The mission isn't until January, 2008, so you have time to add a
little each month so that the team will have lots of good stuff to pass
on along with the love of Jesus Christ.
STUDENT LEADERSHIP UNIVERSITY
You Can Help Send an Asbury Middle School or High School Student to either
Mountain T.O.P. -
or
Student Leadership University.
MERIT FUND - Do you have any special jobs or needs around the house? Leaves piling up, weeds out of control, moving your home or office, painting a room, windows need cleaning, snow shoveled, lawn mowing? Whatever job you may have, big or small, Asbury's Middle and High School students are available to help. Your Asbury students are looking for work to help pay for their Mountain T.O.P. Mission Trip and Student Leadership School. Give the church office a call (407 644-5222) today to hire a student or two. After the job is satisfactorily completed you only pay the church $10. per hour worked, per student and it is put towards their trip. We have around 10 students looking for Merit Fund jobs. We hope you can help make it possible for them to experience an opportunity of a lifetime.
What is the Merit Fund? The Merit Fund was set up to help Asbury's Students raise money for mission trips and special events that require a large financial commitment. The church helps the students find small jobs in the community as a source for fund raising. This keeps their parents from having to repeatedly "write a check". When the student has bought into the event with "their" own time and money there is more ownership, responsibility and excitement towards the event. The funds raised by each student goes into an account at Asbury in their name. When it is time to pay for the mission trip or event, the money is in an account ready for them to use.

Ministries
MISSIONS & COMMUNITY OUTREACH
One of the greatest blessings of being a Christian is the ability to share our time, talents, energy and treasures with those less fortunate. Because of the caring and generosity of the Asbury family, numerous people in our community, as well as around the world, have experienced the love of Jesus Christ. Asbury offers many opportunities to reach out to others in a special way and serve those who are in need. Tell us where you would like to serve.
MUSIC MINISTRIES
Music and singing are joyous and integral parts of Asbury's worship services and special programs. There is a variety of opportunities for persons of all ages to participate in our music ministries.
Adult Chancel Choir - The Chancel Choir enhances Sunday services with traditional hymns, popular gospel tunes and special music. The Chancel Choir is open to all who enjoy singing (the ability to read music is not a requirement). Rehearsal is held every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., providing a time for singing and special fellowship.
Youth Choir - Through participation in Asbury's Youth Choir, middle-school and senior-high students are able to explore their musical talents and praise the Lord in song. Rehearsal is held every Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
Children's Choir - Youngsters age 3 through 5th grade can "make a joyful noise unto the Lord" as members of Asbury's Children's Choir. Rehearsal is held every Wednesday evening during the Wednesday Night Live program. Children usually sing once a month during the 11:00 a.m. service.

PRAYER MINISTRY
The Asbury Prayer Ministry is a dedicated group of people who believe in and apply the power of prayer in people's lives. Through the chapel ministry, requests are prayed for by someone Monday through Friday. The telephone ministry responds to specific needs and requests for prayer in emergencies or special situations. The Prayer Ministry meets on the last Wednesday morning of every month for the sharing of joys, concerns and answered prayers; Bible study; small-group prayer; and fellowship.
ASBURY'S GIANT RUMMAGE SALE
